WestRock Company Finance Manager in Leicester, United Kingdom

The opportunity: in this position, you will be responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, budget formulation, job costing, working capital management, and evaluating potential capital investments. Additionally, you’ll lead a skilled finance team and ensure robust internal controls.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Accurate and timely preparation of monthly, half yearly and annual financial information that meets the requirements of management, the company, government and statutory bodies

  • Review and interpret the sales/production plans to formulate the financial aspects of the budget in order to accurately represent the business unit(s) objectives including management of individual machine cost rates

  • Through delivery of local management information and analysis to assist local management with improved decision-making

  • Develop & interpret all aspects of job costing ensuring accuracy of information and evaluation of margin against sales by individual order and customer

  • Manage and control all the component parts of working capital and organise appropriate action to ensure it is controlled and minimised in total.

  • Provide a financial appraisal of potential capital investments to ensure that only profitable projects are undertaken

  • Recruit, develop and manage the retained element of the Finance function. Create a motivated, knowledgeable and professional team that can provide a good financial service to the business unit(s)

  • Ensure that internal controls are complete, robust and effective in order to safeguard company assets and are fully aligned to the SARBOX framework

  • Work closely with all elements of the outsourced finance function that provide transactional support to the business

What you need to succeed:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA/ ACA equivalent). We will also consider candidates qualified through experience

  • At least 3 years post qualification experience of strong financial and management accounting in a high value/high volume transactional environment.

  • Awareness of costing and margin analysis

  • Exposure to large Group reporting requirements and interaction with internal and external auditors

  • Thorough understanding of internal controls and their implementation

  • Demonstrated ability to work well under tight time constraints and highly organized

  • Influences through logical argument backed up with data and analysis

  • Ability to motivate and develop staff while continually reinforcing team ethos and demonstrating an empathetic leadership style

  • Delegates and develops direct reports well and manages own and own team’s time efficiently

  • Experience of consolidation processes and systems

  • Computer literate with advanced Excel modelling skills and presentation skills

  • Numerical /Verbal reasoning skills at management norm (SHL)
