COATING LINE OPERATOR (HR-JD-1037) - Department: Coating SUMMARY: Responsible for coating products in order to meet the daily and weekly production schedules; performs related work as required with quality workmanship. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Check daily production requirements. B. Maintains necessary records of products and problems that occur while dipping. C. Possesses the knowledge and understanding of the product line. D. Sets up work areas with materials needed to perform jobs. E. Follows proper dipping criteria set up per customers? requirements. F. Detects and reports any irregular operations, questionable or defective parts, and safety hazards to Lead Person and/or Department Manager. G. Maintains good communication between coworkers, Lead Person, and Department Manager. H. Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations. I. Performs good housekeeping and other duties as required in a safe and organized way. J. Reports all unsafe work conditions and/or alleged injuries immediately to Department Manager. K. Provides training and instruction to other operators on proper procedures. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability and willingness to work during a 24-hour period, weekends, and holidays if necessary. WORKING CONDITIONS: Hazards include working with soaps and extremely hot water. Working conditions are good with some seasonal hot and cold as well as wet and humid conditions. EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in manufacturing and/or clean room helpful. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Must have a positive attitude, a satisfactory work history, maintain a good attendance record, and work well with co-workers. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Required to wear clean room garments. Must wear personal protective equipment where posted or required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs, bend, stoop, or stand for extended periods of time.
