The Advanced Technician, Process/Manufacturing Engineering (Evening Shift) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for providing Engineering support to the Value Stream Departments to ensure that hourly targets are met by completing maintenance work and performing Equipment problem resolution.

This position is part of the Operations Department located just outside Tulla in Lismeehan, O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare and will be full time on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Minimize downtime on Equipment, through fast response, effective root cause analysis and good problem-solving techniques.

  • Carry out Effective analysis and elimination of recurring equipment problems, utilizing the Danaher Problem Solving Tools where necessary – DIVE & PSP.

  • Work on continuous improvement of the production lines and output with ownership of associated projects including relevant documentation updates including Engineering Change controls.

  • Providing technical leadership on process issues. Responsible for establishing technical standards. Leadership of projects to resolve complex technical issues regarding equipment.

  • Expedite the implementation of PM schedules.

  • Generation of handovers and keeping of accurate records.

  • Provide support to installation of new equipment, facilities install and running of new equipment for validation.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Technical diploma or degree (NFQ level 7 degree) with 6 years relevant experience

  • Proficient in root causing electrical issues from 24v DC up to 3 phase supply and all types of mechanical issues.

  • Experience in identifying and leading continuous improvement projects.

  • Experience of PLC programming (Siemens, Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley) & proficient in electrical control systems.

  • Previous experience working with pneumatics, instrumentation and Vision systems.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in a highly automated industrial environment.

  • Experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement tools to support the investigation of recurring equipment issues, namely such as PSP (A3 Problem Solving), etc.

  • Experience in Quality assurance, cGMP / FDA QSR / ISO regulations, specifically ISO13485.

The hours of work for this role are as follows:

  • 4.00pm to 12.00am Monday through Thursday

  • 3.00pm -10.00pm Friday.
