Summary

The Business Development Director is a strong sales leader responsible for creating and implementing a sales strategy to achieve ambitious new business growth and retention targets. Concentration on developing relationships and solicit business with net new, EMEA accounts. Has proven ability and track record of developing business opportunities that drive commercial and reputational growth, and to negotiate and close business.

This position will support our EMEA Business Development team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office one day a week (typically Wednesdays) at our London location.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop and convert all net new business opportunities.

  • Manage inbound opportunities through to wins as well as validate & qualify leads.

  • Generate and develop a consistent new business pipeline with an annual sales target of gross agency revenue.

  • Create a structured and sustained outreach plan, targeted at new and lapsed clients.

  • Grow assigned accounts to meet target revenues.

  • Track & report regularly new business activity to leadership using tools such as SFDC and trackers.

  • Demonstrate success by winning new business and aim to secure multiple year contracts.

  • Achieves budgeted sales and job cost.

  • Create bespoke collateral for RFI, RFQ, RFP submissions e.g. credential decks, presentation decks.

  • Work with CS and the wider team on all pitch responses created from your outreach.

  • Maintains an overall tracker and list of prospective clients of all opportunities with status with relevant revenue.

  • Onboards wider business on any won projects to establish foundational knowledge and learnings.

  • Manage a sustained CRM and contact strategy for new prospects and existing/lapsed clients, including sourcing all database contacts, implementing targeted activities, managing ongoing contact plan.

  • Co-ordinate with Marketing & PR on all reputation-driving initiatives (outreach comms, speaking opportunities, etc.).

  • Monitor competitor activity.

Education & Experience

  • Significant experience working in a senior business development role, in a relevant sector (ideally events)

  • Proven track record of new business wins and achieving revenue growth

  • Demonstrable strategic and business vision

  • Strong knowledge of core brand disciplines including strategy, creative, brand activation, 3D environments and digital

  • Proven track record of leading pitch presentations and working with a wider business team

  • Experience in brand experience agency sales

  • The ability to deliver results and maintain a hunger to succeed without constant supervision

  • The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues

  • Must be competent in the use of all Microsoft office products while also being fully competent using sales based CRM software, with experience of salesforce.com being preferable

  • A proven track record of building strategic partnerships with high value customers through consultative and strategic selling
