Role Summary

Marex Solutions is a division of Marex providing investment banking solutions with a fintech mindset. We aim to become the world's leading manufacturer of cross asset, customised derivatives.

The Solutions COO team plays a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency and strategic execution of business initiatives. Supporting the Solutions COO team to manage the Solutions business, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the strategy for the Solutions business and building the operational infrastructure to support with its growth.

Working alongside COO and Sales/Trading teams, you will be supporting with delivery of projects related to enhancement of the Solutions product offering, its global footprint and the risk/control framework, enabling the business to continue to grow sustainably. As a liaison between the Solutions business and Support & Control functions of the wider group, you will also be a key contact and go-to person for both divisions.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual in the early stages of their career to build on their experience in financial services in a COO setting to develop expertise in Structured Products and Business Management. You will be involved in a range of tasks and projects, with responsibility to support the Solutions COO team across the following key areas:

  • Delivering new business initiatives, including through project management, planning and execution.

  • Optimising operation of the business, including through review of existing processes and controls, identifying opportunities for enhancement via automation and technology.

  • Enabling management to effectively monitor and steer the business by preparing reports covering MI, KPIs and KRIs across business performance and risk/compliance matters.

  • Executing day-to-day operational tasks and processes to support the business, such as responding to queries from Sales/Trading and Support & Control, preparing materials for management committees, and managing/updating business procedures and other documentation.

  • Delivering key new in-house build technology platforms as well as other third-party systems.

Responsibilities

Your role will support the Solutions COO team across the following:

  • Delivering strategic and tactical projects that are critical for the Solutions business:

  • Establishing project plans, identifying scope, workstreams and stakeholders.

  • Project management, including tracking of progress and ongoing status updates.

  • Ownership of deliverables and leadership of workstreams.

  • Effective communication with key stakeholders.

  • Cooperating closely with Support & Control teams and the Business to complete tasks and projects on schedule and clearly communicate progress.

  • Undertaking initiatives and tasks related to the Solutions governance, risk and control framework in collaboration with subject matter experts from Legal and Compliance, including maintenance of the product governance framework.

  • Reviewing operational processes and controls to identify opportunities to enhance their effectiveness and efficiency, including through automation and technology.

  • Monitoring KPIs/KRIs and prepare regular reports and MI covering business performance and the governance, risk and control framework to enable management to effectively monitor and steer the business.

  • Developing materials and packs to facilitate Solutions governance committee meetings.

  • Coordinating and managing operational processes to ensure efficiency and compliance, including maintenance of the cross-border framework, enhancement of business procedures, and execution of key controls.

  • Reviewing the Solutions cost base and budget, including support with initiating and implementing measures to control and reduce them in a sustainable manner.

  • Supporting with initiatives to ensure the business is conducted in accordance with local and general regulatory rules.

  • Ensuring that compliance and other compulsory trainings are up to date.

  • Ensuring clear communication to manager.

Skills and Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience* in a Front Office, Risk/Regulatory or Management Consulting role within financial services (preferably working in a field related to derivatives/structured products).

  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills, preferably with familiarity with data analysis.

  • Excellent MS Office skills (incl. Excel), preferably also other coding skills (e.g., VBA or Python).

  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
