Bloomberg Product Manager – Private Markets Strategic Partnerships in London, United Kingdom

Bloomberg is a leading provider of Enterprise Product, Enterprise Data and desktop solutions through our Core business that include the Terminal across public markets and increasingly as we satisfy increased client demand, private markets.

As asset managers and asset owners make ongoing investment, allocation and risk management decisions across both public and private markets, their stakeholder demands continue to evolve. Equally, banks remain a key participant in private markets in an ecosystem that is increasingly interconnected between banks, asset owners and managers and each of these remain key client segments that we want to evolve alongside and service these increased demands for solutions.

As we look to combine our existing offering in private and public markets and execute on expanding these to include more of what makes up the growing private market landscape we are also looking to simultaneously identify strategic partnerships to help accelerate our ambition in this space.

TheRole

We are looking for an experienced hire that has an excellent understanding of the private market landscape across all asset classes and a deep understanding of the clients we service, including technology, workflow and data solutions. Combining this with an excellent understanding of the vendor, solution provider, asset servicer and competitor landscape will also be a key requirement.

The specific responsibilities will include working with all key stakeholder groups across Bloomberg, including product, data, news and corporate development teams, to identify areas of focus based on our defined vision for private markets to identify areas of strategic focus and partnerships that complement what we are building to help accelerate this vision and deliver high-value solutions that address our clients most pressing challenges.

  • Build an internal networkacross all stakeholder groups driving increased collaboration between thesegroups and an increased focus on partnerships that help accelerate ourambition.

  • Synthesize these internalrequirements into a clearly defined set of priorities and identify key partnerswe can engage with to address our client needs and opportunities.

  • Present suggestions andrecommendations to stakeholders and senior management based on your deepunderstanding across private markets and various potential partner options onkey areas of focus.

  • Engage with clients as well aspotential partners at a senior level as well as at a working group level.

You’llneed to have:

  • 10+ years of relevantexperience in private markets and an ability to demonstrate a strongunderstanding of our client base and partner landscape including a good understandingof the competitive landscape.

  • Strong understanding of the assetowner and asset manager investment life-cycle, workflows, tools, analytics anddata requirements and how these are currently being addressed through internaland external solutions

  • Strong leadership, presentation andcommunication skills and an ability to operate at a senior level bothinternally and with our clients

  • Strong understanding of thevarious private markets asset classes including Private Equity, Private DirectLending, Private Asset Based Finance, Infrastructure, Real Estate, PrivateFunds, Private Companies and Private Custom Benchmarks.

We’dlove to see:

  • Demonstrated commercial acumenwith a proven track record in negotiating and executing strategic partnerships.

  • Good understanding ofindependent valuation challenges and solutions as well as the ESG data providerlandscape for private markets.

  • Deep knowledge of clientcohorts including GPs, LPs and service providers.

  • Demonstrated expertise inprivate markets and a comprehensive understanding of the investing process anddata needs across each deal stage.

  • Experience leadingorganizations through periods of change and introducing new, innovative ideas
