Microsoft Corporation Regional Lessor Performance Improvement Manager in London, United Kingdom

Overview:

Within CO+I, Data Center Delivery (DCD) is responsible for the delivery of Hyper Scale Data Centers for the Microsoft’s cloud business. Within DCD, the Datacenter Construction Build Management (DCBM) team are responsible for DC IT Fit out and Lease Construction delivery. The Data Cantre Integration (DCI) team manages the IT Fit-Out of Data Centers and the Lease Construction Management (LCM) team is responsible for safely overseeing delivering Lease datacenter capacity from contract execution to the contracted Ready for Service (RFS) delivery dates.

As EMEA Lease Construction rapidly expands in existing countries and into new geographies, with existing and new Lease Providers we, DCI, are seeking a Regional Lessor Performance Improvement Manager to work with each Lessors to ensure that they are implementing Project Management best practice, DCI/DCBM oversight and reporting requirements and adequately set up to safely deliver quality compliant projects on time.

They will work with the DCI, DCBM and other stakeholders in the developing and implementing these oversight and reporting requirements. They need to have strong interpersonal, communication, planning and organisational skills, strong business acumen and the ability to self-direct in a fast-paced environment. They will report to the EMEA Datacentre Integration Regional Director.

This individual will need to demonstrate a strong background in DC or equivalent industrial facilities delivery, preferably in EMEA or AMER. They will need to have had relevant client facing business unit and onsite construction management experience and have a Construction Management, Architectural, Fit-out or MEP background.

The Regional Lessor Performance Improvement Manager will work with the DCI team and other stakeholders to complete development of an ongoing initiative to establish a comprehensive set of DCI safety, schedule and quality delivery requirements and business OKRs and KPIs and Lessor fit-out delivery KPIs. The principal goal of this role is to improve lessor performance and predictability metrics in terms of safety, cost, schedule and quality.

They will systematically carry out a review of Lessor delivery KPIs.

They will develop and expand an existing Lessor Programme Level conversations with all Lessors, through regular structured project delivery reviews, to ensure that Lessors delivery organization and EPC processes are adequately set up to meet delivery KPIs for existing contracted capacity and forecast delivery growth, and are consistently implementing our scheduling, reporting and quality requirements.

Through Lessor Programme Level Reviews or where Lessors do not meet key KPIs, through formal Project Delivery Improvement Plan (PDIP) requirements, they will work with Lessors to ensure compliance and improve lessor delivery performance in the fit-out.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications

· Degree or Equivalent professional accreditation in Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture.

· A minimum of 7 years senior client facing EPC project management experience, or minimum 3 years Client Facing and 4 years on-site construction Project Management experience and demonstrated progressive responsibility managing multiple concurrent DC and/or large (70+MW IT Load, and/or 80M+$) MEP intensive projects.

· Have a Construction Management, Architectural or MEP background.

· Have in depth planning experience and understanding of construction schedules/programme’ s and risk assessment and mitigation planning.

· Proven ability to independently manage and drive project safety, schedule and quality, effectively report status, risks and issues and delivery and mitigation plans, work with internal stakeholders and influence cross-discipline teams and proactively support business development.

· Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
