Google Software Engineer, CPU Compiler and Machine Learning Infrastructure in London, United Kingdom

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, machine learning or compilers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • Experience working in a compiler stack, including Low Level Virtual Machine (LLVM).

  • Experience working in Central Processing Unit (CPU)/Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) workloads.

  • Experience with Machine Learning (ML) frameworks, such as TensorFlow (TF) and Pytorch.

  • Familiarity with low-level programming, high performance computing or open source development.

In this role, you will develop and apply techniques to accelerate Machine Learning (ML) with our open-source Machine Learning compiler, Accelerated Linear Algebra (XLA).

  • Enhance the CPU compiler software engineering stack with new capabilities and new hardware to improve performance.

  • Design code and interfaces that encourage open source collaboration.

  • Promote best practices for code quality, testing and performance evaluation.

  • Support our open source community through reviews and successful integrations with the internal code base.

  • Foster deep collaboration between hardware vendors and framework developers with the Compiler team.
