What will you do in this role?

AXIS is seeking a Claims Operations Manager, International Claims to join our Claims Shared Services team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operational activities driving execution of key strategic objective for International Claims, the delivery of accurate and accessible claims data, and the effective management of systems via partnership and collaboration with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a strong manager, a results-driven team player with a can-do mindset focused on continuous improvement who thrives in a dynamic and growing environment.

Business is primarily underwritten through Lloyd’s Syndicate’s 1686 and 2050 and AXIS Specialty Europe SE, as well as Lloyd’s Insurance Company and AXIS Underwriting Limited for service company business.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

What you should have:

  • Developing, managing, and executing on the strategic initiatives for AXIS International Claim Operations.

  • Leading, managing and developing a team to deliver exceptional claims service. This team includes three London based specialists and nine outsourced process specialists.

  • Ensuring timely, effective, and accurate handling of day-to-day work activity. process, and referrals to ensure accuracy, turnaround times and resource utilization.

  • Collaborating and supporting with Claims leadership to drive continuous improvement and implement the strategic objectives of the organization.

  • Acting as a subject matter expert for systems development, process optimization and market modernization initiatives.

  • Training and developing individuals to successfully test and complete user and market acceptance testing as required.

  • Maintaining strong relationships and positive engagement with key London Market third-party service providers i . e., DOCOsoft, Velonetic and LIMOSS.

  • Supporting the provisioning and supervision of application licensing, contractor onboarding and offboarding, system permissions and certification.

  • Effectively use data and analytics to problem solve and drive improvement.

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for claims data requirements and provide operational support to claim professionals to resolve queries.

  • Maintaining a deep understanding of embedded internal and market platforms, processes, and databases to embrace system interconnectivity, functionality, data, and automation i.e. , IRIS, DOCOsoft, CRS, ECF2, IMR, RiskWrite, Swordfish, Vitesse and Gemini.

  • Engaging as a lead contract and integral role in London market modernization initiatives to include Blueprint 2 and implementation of the International Claims Orchestration System (ICOS). Actively participating and contributing toward various internal and external working groups to align AXIS interests.

  • Documenting and maintaining training material, guidelines, process workflow, service levels, procedures, controls, and operational metrics as appropriate.

  • Identifying and mitigating risks, managing, and resolving operational workflows and other issues related to the International Claim Operating environment

  • Providing training and support where needed to ensure consistency and adherence to best practices.

  • Collaborating with claims professionals in other geographies, Finance, Business Technology Solutions (BTS), Audit, Compliance, Underwriting Operations, and Data Management to promote the claims value proposition, design solutions and implement efficiencies.

Role Factors :

  • Broad experience working within a Lloyd’s / London Market Insurer with proven experience in Specialty markets and a strong understanding of associated claims processes, procedures and systems

  • Ability to accomplish tasks in a dynamic environment with an aptitude for analyzing data and making practical and forward-looking decisions to drive success

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability and experience supporting strategic initiatives impacting key stakeholders and reporting to senior management

  • Experience working on cross functional teams, collaborating, actively participating, and delivering solutions

  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills including the ability to analyze and interpret financial and claims data

  • Experience preparing business cases and doing cost benefit analyses supporting strategic initiatives impacting key stakeholders

  • Proven prioritization skills with the ability to balance both the immediate needs with broader organizational strategies

  • The ability to issue spot and escalate issues that could present challenges to a project or the organization.

  • Strong conflict resolution skills to effectively deal with people with differing expectations and viewpoints and to build strong cross functional relationships and partnerships

  • Strong knowledge of and skills in use of various software and insurance platforms and claims systems as well as Word and Excel

  • Ability to work in a Hybrid environment, in the office 3 days per week
