The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Commercial Modifications Engineering team is seeking Senior Multi-Skilled Project Engineers (Level 4) to lead Integrated Product Teams in in Long Beach, California .

We are looking for experienced, engaged and motivated engineers to join a team of highly skilled Project Engineers supporting multiple product lines: Connectivity, Avionics and Airframe, Performance & Systems (AP&S), working on complex work statements in coordination with Engineering, Program Management, and other key supporting organizations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs as Project Engineer directing and integrating multiple internal functional engineering disciplines & external suppliers in the execution of Connectivity, Avionics, and AP&S modification projects

  • Supports project proposal activities by reviewing Statement of Work, assessing potential impact to certification, configuration control, and defines the overall effort required to complete the project

  • Develops integrated project plans and project schedules in conjunction with Program Management to execute on customer commitments

  • Understands and manages system requirements, qualification efforts, and certification efforts

  • Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program

  • Applies systems engineering principles in the execution of projects

  • Identifies technical risk, issues, and opportunities; manages risk mitigation, issue resolution, and opportunity capture in all stages of the project

  • Facilitates Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) to resolve technical issues

  • Partners closely with technical Subject Matter Experts to resolve technical issues

  • Effectively navigates complex certification efforts, working with FAA and EASA appointed personnel

  • Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules

  • Identifies and reports project technical performance metrics; responds to trends to maximize timely and quality engineering performance

  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned

  • Identifies and leads improvement initiatives to improve quality and reduce project flow

  • Works with customers and management to obtain approval

  • Works under minimal direction.

  • Some domestic and/or international travel will be required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years’ experience in leading teams or projects

  • 5+ years’ experience supporting cross functional teams

  • 3+ years’ experience in Aircraft Connectivity, Avionics, or AP&S domains

  • Experience with schedule and risk management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Technical Lead on Aerospace Design Vehicles

  • Experience working with Suppliers

  • Experience with 14 CFR Part 25 Regulations

  • Manufacturing experience on Aerospace Design Vehicles

  • Previous experience working in the aircraft modification environment

  • Experience with Boeing Global Services Programs

  • Knowledge of Boeing design, release, and certification procedures

  • Experience providing briefings to senior and/ or executive level management

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $122,400- $165,600
