UCLA Health Laboratory Assistant I - Neurology in Los Angeles, California
Description
Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator and the Assistant Project Scientist, the Laboratory Assistant will generate and maintain a database of blood-based samples from patients with multiple neurodegenerative diseases obtained from various clinics and biobanks. The Laboratory Assistant will also be responsible for isolating brain-derived exosomes from the blood-based samples.
Please note that this is a part-time,12 month limited position and may
convert to career.
Salary Range: $19.90 - $23.04/Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to obtain exosomes from blood serum samples.
Ability to immunoprecipitate brain-derived exosomes.
Ability to create and maintain a large database.
Ability to accurately prepare solutions.
Ability to tabulate results accurately and present them verbally in a comprehensive presentation to the principal investigator
Macintosh skills and experience with Microsoft Office software, RedCAP and GraphPad programs.
Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment, supplies, and animals to maintain inventory and stock.
Experience with neurologic diseases.
Excellent verbal and written English skills.
Preferred:
- B.S. or B.A. in biological/biochemical science.
