UCLA Health Staff HR Assistant - Anesthesiology in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Staff HR Assistant is responsible for assisting and supporting HR services, policies, and programs for the Department

of Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine. Specific areas of responsibility include Staffing/ Recruitment, HR

Administration, Benefits, and HR Compliance in conjunction with UCLA Health HR. You are responsible for assessing and anticipating HR-related

needs. The HR Assistant will communicate proactively with the direct supervisor, HR Manager/Director, and UCLA Health Human Resources.

Salary Range: $26.10 - $49.38/HourlyQualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office.

  • Working knowledge of procedures and practices that govern HR administration, preferably in a university environment.

  • Analytical skills to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and resolve organizational issues.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize work and manage divergent needs.

  • Working knowledge of human resources concepts, employment practices, employee/labor relations, salary administration, recruitment, training, and other areas of human resources.

  • Ability to work independently or with a team and complete projects within specified deadlines.

  • Skilled in handling sensitive information and / or situations and maintaining strict confidentiality.

  • Skilled in meeting deadlines despite frequent interruptions.

  • Skilled in composing business, personnel and / or payroll correspondence.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively relay and obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, and students.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with department staff, managers, and colleagues.

  • Knowledge of benefits and retirement programs, preferably in a university environment; ability to interpret and communicate complex benefits information to employees at all levels.

Preferred:

  • 1-year UCPath / PeopleSoft or applicable enterprise software.

  • 1-year HBS or time keeping system.
