PPL Corporation Accounting/Finance Intern - Budgeting in Louisville, Kentucky

Overview

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of budgetary duties and analyses, assisting in the development of monthly forecasts and the annual operating plan. Under the supervision of manager, Transmission and Gas Budgeting and/or Budget Analysts, assigned responsibilities to work on projects and programs necessary to achieve or exceed long and short-term financial goals.

Student must be enrolled full time, pursuing a bachelors degree. This position will be part-time ( 20-30 hours/week) during spring and fall semesters and either part-time or full-time (40 hours/week) during summers. The Company will be flexible in the part-time work schedule (8am-5pm - Monday-Friday) based on the student's class schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of monthly variance reporting for supported businesses.

  • Assists with monthly accounting journal entries within the Oracle Financial system.

  • Assists with project set up within PowerPlan.

  • Query the Oracle and PowerPlan databases, and utilize the output to update various Excel spreadsheets.

  • Assist in the annual Budgeting process for O&M and Capital.

  • Manage multiple tasks while accurately maintaining record of work accomplishments.

  • Performs other duties as directed and assigned by Manager/Budget Analysts.

Qualifications

  • Completed freshmen year of undergraduate studies with declared major in accounting, business, economics or related degree.

  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office and proficient with the use of Excel

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent examples of attention to detail as well as organization and analytical skills.

  • Above average interpersonal written/oral communication skills required.

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
