A client of ours in the legal industry located in downtown Louisville is seeking an Employment Law Paralegal to join their team. This position is responsible for assisting attorneys who specialize in employment and labor law, including addressing issues such as compensation, workplace safety, layoffs, trade secret theft, and labor disputes, among others. This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: Associate

Responsibilities

  • Prepare: pleadings, discovery, exhibits, trial notebooks, witness information, charts of information, summaries, timelinesand demonstrative evidence for use at trial

  • Daily interface with clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, courts.

  • Maintain and manage all document production.

  • Conduct state and federal e-filing.

  • Obtain needed documentation from clients for ongoing litigation, discovery matters, materials needed for the development of the case.

  • Conduct factual investigation, including but not limited to witness interviews.

  • Serve as document liaison to clients and manage document files and ESI in third-party document management programs such as Logikcull and Relativity.

  • Organize documentation, supervise timely production of documentation and supplementation of documentation each time documents are received.

  • Assignment and supervision toward completion of projects/tasks to junior paralegal, groups legal secretaries, attorneys as needed.

  • Daily monitor of critical dates deadlines through Compulaw calendar

  • Preparation of documents for all depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials; document pull and organization of all related materials by subject and witnesses.

  • Conduct legal research using Lexis, etc.

  • Be familiar with courtroom experience and procedure; attendance and participation in hearings and trials as needed and requested by attorney(s).
