Arvato Bertelsmann Senior Logistics Engineer Louisville, Kentucky

Arvato is hiring Senior Logistics Engineers to join our growing team. In this exciting role, you will supervise, guide and assign projects to engineering technicians relating to the engineering, development, maintenance and special projects of all equipment as well as assist Project Managers in complex multi-function/ multi fulfillment center projects. You will oversee the execution of Arvato solutions for our customers by working with other departments to get quotes, select vendors and install equipment to meet customized solution requirements. As the Senior Logistic Engineer, you will also manage all vendors on property and any project related builds, while helping Arvato continuously improve its operations.

Your Tasks Research and modify equipment to meet the department’s production, quality or layout requirements Develop logistics metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for business units Create Solutions for new customers using data as a guide Evaluate the use of inventory tracking technology, web-based warehousing software, or intelligent conveyor systems to maximize distribution center efficiency Data analysis and problem-solving skills Manage a fleet of RF devices via a fleet management software and oversee site RF technicians Assist in new building selection and fit out to meet Arvato specifications Maintain CAD drawings of current site layout as well as develop drawings for new customer solutions Work with multiple departments to map out process flows for end-to-end solutions Organizational and planning skills Provides leadership, technical guidance, and training to other team members Manages, coordinates, and implements internal logistics improvement projects to improve effectiveness, quality, and cost Specifically focused on new technologies, existing process integration, and strategic development of new methods and concepts Communicates with Management, Engineering, and other colleagues to ensure that best practices are shared across the organization Participates in strategic capital equipment and budget planning and forecasting

Your Profile 6 to 8 years of experience in implementation of logistics/material handling equipment and processes and experience in facility layouts, time studies, and design of kitting or automated assembly lines Must possess a BS degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience Ability to travel up to 25% within the US with potential for international travel if needed Experience with PLC Conveyor Systems (preferred) Data analysis (preferred) Experience using SAP (preferred) Understanding of warehouse control systems (preferred)
