Utilities Service, LLC Water Meter Installer - GOS in Louisville, Kentucky

Water Meter Installer

Entry-level position No experience necessary. Starting pay is $19.00 with regular reviews. Weekly pay. Day Shift with Monday through Friday schedule. Attendance bonus!!! This is an outdoor position.*

This position is responsible for the timely change out of water meters and performs retrofit and change out of existing water meters. Day Shift hours Monday through Friday. Some Overtime and weekends require. This is an Outdoor Position.

Job Type : Full-Time +, Non-Exempt

Pay : Starting pay rate is $19.00 per hour to start.

  • Rate increases after 90 days based on attendance, production, and safety.

  • Attendance incentive.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Performs retrofit and change out of existing water meters.

  • Sets appropriate priorities and works in accordance with scheduled time requirements and high meter reading accuracy.

  • Identifies and reports to management all conditions that prohibit the installation of meters &/or hazardous conditions.

  • Troubleshoot and employ critical thinking daily.

  • Completes all work assigned in a timely manner according to schedule.

  • Completes all tracking documents (electronic and paper).

  • Demonstrates safe, high-quality work practices in a team atmosphere.

  • Commitment to customer service - responding to the needs of internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Strong Interest in construction process; preference toward HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Gas Lines, Mechanical Trades, Skilled Laborer Trades, Auto Mechanic Skills, Carpentry and Telecommunications.

  • Directional Skills: Ability to read and understand maps via GPS instruments and websites

  • Self-motivated with ability to work with little supervision.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Plumbing and water metering preferred, but not required.

Traveling requirements:

  • No travel required.

Pre-Screen:

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • Driver's License Required.

Physical Requirements:

  • RARE (less than 10%): sitting, crawling, climbing poles, climbing ladders, climbing stairs.

  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): climbing on/off truck, balancing.

  • FREQUENT (up to 66%): standing, walking, stooping, body twisting, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant, reaching, range of motion, hearing-speech range, depth perception, pushing.

  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, sense of touch, gripping, lifting over 10 lbs to 50 lbs., seeing, reading, color vision, lifting, carrying, pulling, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.

Safety

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
