Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the position is responsible for research, planning, design, development, maintenance and performance of corporate database systems. The applicant will be responsible for monitoring database and related systems, improving database performance, resolving highly complex problems, automating complex tasks, creating new databases systems and handling change management for existing database systems. This position mentors junior team members.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Automation engineering and development using Python, ADO Pipelines, and PowerShell

• Designing and implementing processes that support database team operational activities

• Defines, creates, and maintains database metrics and documentation for database configuration and support.

• Diagnoses and resolves highly complex database problems and participates in database on-call rotation.

• Researches new database technologies to evaluate, install, and upgrade database software products.

• Architects the automation of routine DBA tasks

• Works with application developers to optimize complex SQL statement and provide specialized database support and training.

• Maintains database systems to improve and optimize performance.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field, or foreign equivalent; plus 5 years of Database Administration or Database Engineering experience.

Skills: 5 years’ experience using technologies such as: SQL Server, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, DB2, Google BigQuery, Neo4j, SQL DDL and DML commands, optimizing SQL statements, database backup and recovery procedures, Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD, Python, PowerShell

Education:

Bachelors: Computer and Information Science (Required), Bachelors: Computer Engineering (Required), Bachelors: Management Information Systems (Required)
