Dietitian - TTU

Position Description:

Highly involved in the creation of nutritionally-balanced meals for hospitality operations; works with students on individual nutrition plans, special diets, and allergy/intolerance issues. Develop programs for students to educate and promote healthy dining and sound nutrition practices for the campus community, as needed. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment in assessing and analyzing all food products.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Develop, implement, and manage revenue-generating individual and group (in-person and tele-medicine) Medical Nutrition Therapy, nutrition wellness, weight management, and other programs as deemed necessary for clinical services at NMHI and for services provided to our clinical partners (inpatient and outpatient).

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including students, staff, faculty (e.g., health care providers, and researchers) in the overall success of the NMHI mission

  • Provide nutrition expertise, clinical intervention and study coordination support to research projects and clinical trials as needed.

  • Collaborate with the director in the development of new programs, educational materials, and efforts to enhance community outreach and engagement activities in the Lubbock community

  • Engage in traditional and social media outreach under the direction of the NMHI director.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates are also expected to have clinical MNT experience as well has have their RD credential and license to practice in the state of Texas, as well as a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills for engaging all customers (e.g., patients, providers, colleagues, students)

  • It is preferred that candidates have some research experience and / or study coordination administration experience (as well as experience in program development and management).

  • Working knowledge of establishing relationships with insurance for revenue-generating MNT services.

  • Demonstrated experience initiating and managing financially positive nutrition programs.

  • Experience in mentoring students in a clinical setting.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a master’s degree in dietetics, food and nutrition or related field from an approved accredited university. Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. At least four years’ experience in dietitian work.
