Job Title: Light Industrial Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Light Industrial Assembler to join our team in manufacturing for military and defense customers. You will work on circuit boards that go into night vision goggles used by the US Army and Coal Miners belts. This role involves mission-critical soldering work, where you will solder small components and boards according to customer specifications, ensuring they pass quality inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce Quality Management procedures in the Manufacturing area.

  • Inspect incoming items.

  • Verify SMT line machine setup.

  • Conduct First Article inspections (FAI) of assembled products and complete FAI paperwork in accordance with AS9100 procedures.

  • Document defects and organize data into usable form.

  • Perform final inspection of all outgoing hardware.

  • Write QA reports as required by supervisor/management.

  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor/management.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 requirements.

  • Knowledge of J-STD-001, Space Addendum soldering standards.

  • Ability to identify components and understand polarity.

  • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings.

  • Ability to produce written reports.

  • Ability to perform minor statistical calculations.

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to lift and carry a maximum of 35 pounds a short distance.

  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work a 4/10 schedule, Monday through Thursday. The role involves working with advanced technology in a clean and safe facility, adhering to strict quality assurance standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.50/hr.
