JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: This position works with UW-Madison Facilities Planning & Management in the newly created Real Estate Development & Administration team that is helping shape the future of the UW-Madison campus. The associate director will oversee the real estate team and workload to ensure the UW-Madison real estate portfolio is managed to meet campus priorities and strategic plans. The associate director develops real estate transactions including lease terms, amendments, renewals, right of entry agreements, facility and/or land use agreements, easements, and license agreements as necessary to meet campus objectives. The associate director will also oversee the real estate budgets and develop capital budget requests for real estate planning needs. Responsibilities: Directs the development, management, and maintenance of existing institutional properties to ensure operable and efficient space for institutional needs. Provides guidance regarding potential real estate transactions and serves as a front-facing point of contact for institutional development and the associated philosophy. 10% Directs the development, maintenance and operational activities of specified properties and affiliated projects within the institution 20% Develops, executes, and presents analyses of potential real estate transactions 20% Negotiates contracts for designated facilities and property 10% Conducts tours and gives presentations to groups regarding real estate developments and the alignment with strategic plans and objectives 10% Manages and audits annual budgets 10% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees 5% Direct facility and land use agreements, easements, and right of entry agreements necessary for campus initiatives. 5% Oversee and submit transactions for reviews by stakeholders and legal counsel. 5% Maintain Universities of Wisconsin, Board of Regent, and Wisconsin Building Commission requirements for UW-Madison real estate transactions. 5% Direct and...
