As a Dry Etch Equipment Maintenance Technician at Micron Technology in Manassas, Virginia, you are responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment and/or processes in the assigned area, while working in partnership with production team members and area engineers. Shift Technicians monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to solve and repair equipment issues. They are also required to assist with equipment installs; tests; create and modify equipment procedures; and increase tool uptime through systematic problem solving and fixing, quality workmanship, thoroughly document all maintenance performed in established check sheets and tracking programs, and routine review of maintenance check sheets and procedures. They monitor, analyze, and address SPC issues for area processes on a daily basis and respond to SPC out of control issues. Shift Technicians are required to keep the Lead Tech and/or Lead Engineer updated on tool and area issues.
General & Physical Requirements
Must spend large portion of time on shift walking or standing
Light assembly with hand-held tools weighing less than 3 lbs.
Have ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
Must wear personal protective gear including respirator breathing apparatus
Be able to perform tasks while stooping, crouching, kneeling, or crawling
Be able to climb ladders and work with arms raised above head level
Keep up-to-date on your TRAINING/Learning profiles - Site-wide and EHSS profiles should always be at 100%.

Must be flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed. Typical manufacturing shifts are 12 hour long.

Follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws
Be an active participant in the EHSS program by reporting all EHSS-related concerns or problems immediately to the appropriate individual (ERT, Supervision, etc.) and through the good catch system
Promote a positive culture for safety by holding yourself and team members accountable to environmental programs and policies at Manassas Virginia site
Ensure all safety and environmental compliance related work tasks are being completed in accordance to existing requirements (LOTO, audits, training, Job Hazard Analysis, use of proper PPE and evacuation procedures)
Qualifications:
Basic to intermediate knowledge of AC/DC circuits including fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits
Basic understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving at least into an algebraic level
Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Be able to fix basic problems and address root causes
A strong mechanical proficiency and have the ability to use schematic diagrams to fix electronics down to the board level.
Ability to properly use common hand tools
Effective time management and prioritization skills
Proven ability in multi-tasking complex projects
Basic data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills
Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
The ability to be flexible with job responsibilities and take the initiative to assume added responsibilities

Equipment and Process
Use systematic approach to resolve “Long term down”, (LTD) equipment, drives long-term down action plans; understands when to advance to the next level
Understand and help improve best known methods and area documentations for maintenance and recovery procedures; mentoring other team members
Is a contributor in KT sessions on difficult fixes and hard down situations
Identifies and implements procedure and documentation changes
Resolves recurring problems by identifying and eliminating root cause; follows up by writing equipment related ECNs and includes data to justify changes when appropriate
Reacts appropriately to Tool trends or yield concerns called out by 1st shift equipment and process owners
Establishes Documentation
Continuously improve the reaction mechanisms and procedures based on feedback from the end users. Includes support of Periodic Document Review (PDR) process
Applies decision making methods using data, established guidelines, procedures and judgment (KT PA/DA/PPA, 5 Why’s, etc.)
Demonstrate and mentor peers on quality workmanship through attention to detail and ensuring procedural consistency
Promote, Foster and Adhere to TPM Core Beliefs for continually improving equipment effectiveness
Support TPM documentation requirements; 1-Pt Lessons, FARs, PFCs, Sensor Cards, CIP Program, M-Tags, Tech Memo, etc.
Fully participate and attend TPM team meetings and use the Company’s Global TPM system
Maintain 6S protocol in all maintenance activities
Engage in focus teams to resolve problems that help drive TPM metrics
Continually Develops Self
Accepts responsibility for personal mistakes and seeks clarification for future improvement
Regularly meets with supervisor to set expectations and review accountability for area level goals
Accepts feedback in a positive manner
Project Management/Planning:
Partners with equipment engineers and 1st shift owners to develop, prioritize, and manage projects
Handles projects to ensure deliverables are completed within the required scope, schedule, and budget
Tracks actions and provides critical issue path or resources to be completed on time
Supports department business processes for new tool installations, modifications, and removals
Other Responsibilities
Although hired onto one shift, there may be a need to move to another shift to provide FAB support as business requires
Flexible with job responsibilities and shift assignments
Additional OT may be requested
Minimum Required Qualifications
AA in Electronics or equivalent military experience.
Basic understanding of physics concepts and principles. SPC principles and proper application, and have understanding of semiconductor equipment/equipment.
Basic knowledge of test and calibration equipment (O-scopes, multimeters, DMMs, etc)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years - Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance, specifically working on vacuum systems would be a plus
Prior experience maintaining High Vacuum systems; roughing pumps, turbo pumps, cryo pumps, pressure measurement systems
Maintenance, repair and solving experience with plasma RF systems and semiconductor type plasma etch tools like LAM (KIYO, EXELAN, FX, FLFX) or AMAT CENTURA, MESA, PRODUCER, ENABLER or TEL (DRM, SCCM, VIGUS, VESTA)
Able to work independently, multi tasks and prioritize activities when needed
Apply knowledge to perform work when standard operating procedures (SOPs) are incomplete or unavailable
Experience with multiple robotic systems and proficiency on operation, maintaining and repairing same
Strong Customer Relations skills
Strong relationship building skills with ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and customer
Demonstrated teamwork and organizational skills
Experience with Training and Mentoring junior technicians
Demonstrated leadership and program management skills
