Formulator Lead Supervisor - Mankato, MN
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Formulator Lead Supervisor to be part of our Refinery Plant team leadership. The formulator Lead Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of the load out team, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and driving operational efficiency and safety. They shall also assist with day to day operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Training and Development:
Conduct hands-on training for new team members
Create and update skill set matrices and training progress
Conduct safety training for new hires
Coordinate and track training sessions with L&D coordinator
Develop and implement effective training programs
Operations and Coordination:
Oversee oil load out operations
Standardize and optimize schedules and work processes
Coordinate with commercial team, oil handling/rail team, and other departments
Ensure efficient trucks and rail loading and all the process aid ordering and waste product handling.
Develop and implement strategies to achieve high-quality performance and minimize downtime
Safety and Compliance:
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections
Identify and implement measures to mitigate near misses and prevent accidents
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations
Participate in near miss safety team investigations
Scheduling and Logistics:
Assist in employee scheduling and workflow optimization
Coordinate with WPO/DEC teams to facilitate movement within the refinery areas
Back up the superintendent on processing supplies (chemicals)
Back up Superintendent and maintenance superintendent on duties while out of office.
Performance Excellence:
Participate in the steering committee and CCD team
Collaborate with the CCD PE team to provide training documents and track progress
Assist with standardizing and maintaining operator skills and abilities
Train and support new shift supervisors and step-up supervisors
Reporting and Documentation:
Enter data into Sphera and track progress
Participate in end-of-month inventory entry and review reports
Ensure completion and filing of monthly inspections
Leadership and Support:
Lead by example and demonstrate leadership skills
Provide guidance and support to team members
Back up the plant superintendent and Maintenance superintendent as needed
Create the team works schedule
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in refinery plant or related industry
Proven leadership skills and experience in training and developing teams
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members
Familiarity with Sphera and other relevant systems
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
Ability to navigate the plant and equipment safely

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
