What You'll Do
  • Machining & Fabrication: Use manual machinery like lathes, mills, shapers, and grinders to repair and fabricate components for motors, generators, turbines, and gearboxes.
  • Electroplating: Apply electroplating techniques to enhance component durability and functionality.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the best machining methods and materials.
  • Precision Work: Utilize tools like micrometers and calipers to ensure components meet exact tolerances and specifications.
  • Problem-Solving: Diagnose mechanical issues and determine effective repair or fabrication solutions.
  • Maintenance & Safety: Maintain equipment, perform inspections, and ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Experience: At least 2 years as a machinist with hands-on experience using manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of machining procedures, metal properties, and blueprints.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for precision and accuracy when measuring and fabricating components.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and find solutions for complex mechanical issues.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting heavy components and standing for extended periods while operating machinery.
  • Education: High school diploma (or equivalent); technical certification in machining is a plus.
