Abbott Regular Technical Staff for Product Development and Support in Matsudo-shi, Japan

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

The position of Regular Technical Staff for Product Development and Support is within our ID/Technical Department located at Chiba, Japan, Abbott Diagnostics Medical Co., Ltd. (Japan). This role will help to make improvement manufacturing process of diagnostics devices from technical and scientific aspects.

This job description will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Laboratory work

Evaluate the new material or process

Prepare the buffer solution, protein solution and colloidal solution

Prepare the immunochromatography test device

Test the device with human serum/plasma, whole blood or other fluid.

Record in the laboratory notebook

Plan the experiment and execute

Operate production machine for the evaluation

Documentation

Plan and implementation the change

Prepare the protocol for evaluation and report the results

Impact assessment for change or incident

Change control activity following to ISO 13485 or other requirements

General

Work for ADJ operational excellence project

Follow the quality system in ADJ and improve the work process

Laboratory maintenance, Machine/Equipment maintenance

Monitoring and analyze data from manufacturing and QC

Kaizen, Six sigma or other improvement program

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

  • More than 2 years’ experience in laboratory work

  • Basic knowledge of antibody-antigen reaction

  • Basic knowledge for science especially for biochemistry or material science

  • Basic knowledge for statistics

  • Plan and prepare the experimental protocol, do the experiment and prepare the report

  • Accurate use of micropipette, UV/VIS photometer, pH meter, and centrifuge etc.

  • Can read visual test (red line signal intensity)

  • Native level Japanese speaker and reading/writing in Japanese

  • PC skills: Intermediate Excel user

  • Intermediate English skills for reading the technical documents in English.The business English writing and conversation skill

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctor of Science or Engineering

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six Sigma or QC KENTEI (Quality Management and Quality Control Examination)
