Aerotek Industrial Electrician in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Job Description

Plan, layout, and perform all operations pertaining to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of complicated electrical equipment and circuitry. This includes installing, maintaining, and repairing electric motors, digital drives, high voltage circuits, and electrical control panels. The role also involves repairing and maintaining electric 3 phase or single phase motors, installing and repairing electronic equipment including PLC programs, and maintaining and installing electric services in plant buildings. The electrician will also mount fixtures, run conduit, pull wire, connect wire, perform PMs through work orders on plant equipment, troubleshoot electrical breakdowns, and perform machine changeovers.

Hard Skills

  • Troubleshooting off electrical diagrams or schematics

  • Electrical troubleshooting of equipment or machinery

  • Control wiring

  • PLC programming

  • Understanding of AC/DC current 100, 200, 480, and 2300 V circuitry

Soft Skills

  • Ability to interpret schematics for both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

  • Proficiency in using electrical measurement devices

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

The position is in a manufacturing environment within a plant that has a Class 1, Division 1 rating. The environment is dirty and dusty with potential dust explosions, and involves working in 70 feet silos. The plant is a tobacco-free facility. Shifts include 3rd Shift M-F from 7:00pm-7:00am. The role offers a starting pay of $37.21 with shift differentials, biweekly pay, a $3000 sign-on bonus, and additional pay for weekend shifts. A 90-day probationary period applies with possible training during daylight hours.
