Kuehne+Nagel Air Logistics Operational Care Specialist in Melbourne, Australia
You will be responsible for enabling transport activities by executing bookings, entering orders, and generating all required export/import documentation.
Your Role
You will liaise with our Customer Care and Revenue Care Teams to ensure that all operational requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner, while adhering to all governance and regulatory standards.
Your Responsibilities
Shipment Management: Create and complete shipment details in the internal transport management system, coordinate with all stakeholders, and organize transport according to the customer’s promise. Obtain approvals where necessary and escalate discrepancies as required.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on the operational performance of carriers and other vendors, ensuring strong data quality for timely and accurate customer reporting.
Consolidation Management: Create files for consolidation (Export) or de-consolidation (Import).
Documentation and Compliance: Review and ensure alignment of shipping instructions, clarifying any deviations or conflicts while considering country regulations, export/import compliance, rates, and routing information. Accurately submit and issue all required documentation within 24 hours of departure.
Shipment Tracking: Ensure departure and arrival confirmations (or any deviations from the schedule) are communicated to the Customer Care Teams.
Cost and Revenue Management: Promote cost efficiency by ensuring timely and accurate cost/revenue updates. Maximize profits by providing cost awareness to the Customer Care and Revenue Care Teams
Claims and Disputes: Support and resolve any claims and disputes that may arise during operations.
Additional Duties: Perform any other tasks assigned by management to support the team and business objectives.
Your Skills and Experiences
Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related fields.
1-3 years of experience in Air Logistics or Freight Forwarding operations is preferred.
Strong understanding of air freight processes, documentation, and regulations.
Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines. Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge of export/import documentation and customs regulations.
Analytical thinking with a solution-driven mindset.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
