Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent insurance industry experience.
  • 1 or more years of property and casualty insurance experience preferred.
  • 2 or more yearsof business analysis or product management experience required.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, and work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Achieve stretch goals in an innovative and demanding environment.
  • Problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with creating flow diagrams and wire frames preferred.

Job Summary

The Jr Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions within the at Orion180. This position involves analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and collaborating to ensure the successful implementation of new products and initiatives.The Jr Business Analyst works closely with the Product Manager and Product Ownerto ensure the alignment of business requirements with technical solutions and communicates with other teams and management to ensure a shared understanding of project goals and requirements.The Jr Business Analyst will work closely with the product, actuarial, technology, marketing, sales, underwriting, claims, and customer service teams to ensure all proposed initiatives are executed.

Role and Responsibilities

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position.   • Identifies needs of Stakeholders and ensures that the product meets those needs and performs as expected including competitive landscape, targets customers and on point pricing strategy.
  • Defines detailed product requirements.
  • Workshop multiple simultaneous projects at various stages of completion.
  • Collaborates with technology team and technical writers to develop product documentation and training.
  • Manages, tracks, and communicates requirements for future product design or enhancement.
  • Works with Technology before and during the development cycle to ensure functional specifications and the final product meets market requirements.
  • Understands business goals and ensures they are met.
  • Defines product requirements of newly identified product opportunities.
  • Gathers and analyzes feedback from sales, marketing, customer experience and agents to define requirements within a cohesive product roadmap.
  • Writes product and business requirement documents to clearly articulate product features.

Physical Demands

While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include, to communicate with others by talking, listening, and reading.

Work Environment

The office environment is quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to conversations, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices, or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must work their regularly assigned work schedule for their duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, work an extended schedule depending on the company/department needs, project requirements, or customer demands.
