Position Overview:

Leads the design and implementation of enterprise network solutions, standards, and processes as well as works across engineering teams to identify, define, and manage project milestones. Uses fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to analyze operational data/methods, identify performance improvement opportunities, and/or implement technology systems that meet business objectives. Researches, designs, develops, deploys, and/or supports new and current technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, implements, and supports new and existing enterprise network infrastructure.

  • Evaluates existing technology to identify and design future networking solutions and improvement opportunities.

  • Generates conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures as well as documents, testing analyses, test plans, and risk assessments to ensure sound architectures that meet client needs.

  • Conducts network assessments to validate enterprise baseline and provide context for future network direction.

  • Performs requirements development, analysis, allocation, review, tracing, and validation.

  • Monitors network performance and provides all necessary reporting analysis. Investigates anomalies/outages and to determine root cause, steps to reproduce and solutions options.

  • Leads ITIL (Information Technology Information Library) problem management and resolution in the support of deployed technology and acts as subject matter expert on escalated production outages.

  • Leads internal and external business partners to plan, design, implement, and satisfy IT project requirements for new technology initiatives.

  • Works with various vendors and designs network solutions to integrate with new and existing client environments.

  • Participates in the development of accurate statements of work for outside vendors and financial justification analysis.

  • Leads, coaches, and/or supervises junior members of IT Network Engineering team.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Math, or Science required and 7-10 years’ experience in designing, implementing, and supporting of WAN, LAN, Security and Wireless Solutions required.

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Route Certification Required

  • Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) or Cisco Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification or Training Preferred

  • Experience designing, monitoring, and supporting IT systems required

  • Experience in requirements development, analysis, allocation, review, tracing, and validation required

  • Experience generating technical documentation such as specifications, engineering reports, test plans and procedures, validation plans, and validation reports required

  • Experience in product concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, synthesis, verification and validation required

  • Expert routing and switching experience in Cisco LAN/WAN environments as well as Cisco Datacenter environments

  • Experience evaluating technologies and vendors to fulfill client needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Office product suites.

  • Verbal, written and presentation communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management and cross functional teams.

  • Knowledge and skill to summarize and interpret data and draw conclusions

  • Time management and organizational skills as well as ability to work on multiple projects

  • System engineering/analytical/problem solving skills.

  • Expertise in contemporary network technology including knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, DMVPN, QoS, and VoIP.

  • Ability to work independently as well as lead cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to evaluate Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements and recommend compliant wired and wireless network designs.

  • Load balancing/SSL acceleration.

Pay Ranges$79,175.00 - $131,958.00

This range is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Company-matching 401(k) in addition to other programs and perks.
