Responsibilities

Physical therapist will be directly supervised by their Physical Therapy Clinical Manager. Further reporting relationships exist between the Physical Therapist and all other members of the Rehabilitation Services Leadership team including Rehabilitation Services Operations Managers and the Director of Rehabilitation Services for MCHS-NWWI. Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as determined by a recognized plan of care. Administers treatments in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following an injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning and create physical coping strategies in instances of permanent disability. Delegates and monitors treatment provided by Physical Therapist Assistants. Physical therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (Rehabilitation Techs, LATs, etc.). Physical Therapist participates in operational aspects of the department. Maintains awareness of budgetary and fiscal responsibility as it pertains to wages, overtime, productivity, and continuing education. Takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Participates in all mandated departmental and organizational educational programs.

Qualifications

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Strong written and verbal skills. Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of physical therapy and occupational therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same. Decision-making and problem solving skills. Team-building skills. DPT preferred. One year of experience in as a Physical Therapist, preferred. Licensed or eligible for license in the state of Wisconsin. Current BLS certification. Drivers License may be required depending on location of hire.
