Job Title: Warehouse Associate

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate various forklifts, utilize an RF scanner, and manage inventory through accurate counting and bundling of products. You will be responsible for building pallets, attaching proper shipping information, and ensuring product accuracy before shipment. You will need to follow pick sheets, prepare shipments using a shrink wrap machine, and document shipments using a computer.

Responsibilities

• Operate various sit-down forklifts, EPJs, stock chasers, Bendys, and forklifts up to 5,000 lbs.

• Utilize RF scanners to manage inventory.

• Build and break down pallets accurately.

• Count products correctly and perform basic math calculations.

• Bundle products and gather materials as per pick sheets.

• Utilize a shrink wrap machine to prepare pallets and shipments.

• Attach proper shipping information accurately.

• Ensure product correctness and accuracy before shipment.

• Document shipments using a computer.

• Stack products safely and move scrap material out of the workspace.

• Operate stand-up forklifts and cherry pickers.

• Work comfortably at heights.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma

• Experience operating sit-down forklifts and RF scanners

• Attention to detail

• Basic math skills

• Comfortable with heights

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience moving steel tubing with a forklift

• Experience operating a forklift within a lumber yard

Work Environment

The work environment is a large, clean warehouse facility with 18 aisles of products. The team is small but growing due to an influx of inventory from another location. New equipment is expected in the coming weeks, and there are plans to expand to a second shift. Candidates must be open to working 50+ hours a week, including weekends when needed. Steel-toe boots are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Merrillville, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
