The Role at a glance:

Constellation Miami is seeking a Director of Service, a pivotal role aimed at delivering unparalleled events through top-tier hospitality. The Director will be at the forefront of each event, ensuring seamless execution and an exceptional experience throughout the event. This role involves comprehensive management of event dynamics, focusing on the meticulous orchestration of food and beverage service by overseeing the dedicated staff. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of luxury standards and demonstrate proficiency in managing all facets of event logistics and client interactions to create memorable occasions. Luxury experience is required.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop, train and mentor staff and conduct performance evaluations of Banquet staff, to help groom staff to make more accountable in their roles, and captain events

  • Work in tandem with event management staff to provide operational and staffing flow for events, across all of Florida

  • Monitor staffing levels to minimize cost and increase productivity. Recommend staffing needs according to business levels and communicate with Temp agency in regards to staffing for additional personnel needs.

  • Manage a dynamic staffing team and support their efforts to ensure systems, process and requirements are being met.

  • Develop necessary training programs for all Service associates to ensure consistent, high level service is being offered

  • Manage the development and establish personnel action plans to recruit and hire service staff to meet business demands. This will be done in conjunction with the TA team.

  • Oversee and support the staff booking process, through in house staff as well as temp agencies.

  • Support the management of the catering software as it pertains to staffing.

  • Collaborate with the staffing teams to assign captains for events.

  • Effectively and proactively communicate with GM on all business or staff related issues daily.

  • Complete special projects as directed by the Executive Management team.

  • Support the process of keeping accurate and current reports on all staff.

  • Create appropriate service plans for events, owning larger events and supporting staffing team on generating captains packs and Oversee event assignments.

  • Oversee the creation and distribution of all pertinent paperwork to captain in advance of events.

  • Present at functions/events to ensure timeliness and conduct of staff; as well as service output, ensuring event success.

  • Must have strong administrative and technology skills.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

  • At least five years of experience coordinating food service events and staffing levels.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.

  • The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.

  • Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice-to-haves:

  • ServSafe and/or HACCP certification

Salary

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000K
