Lead Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair and operation of the Product Characterization and Test lab equipment. He also develops solutions for testing needs or new tests being introduced to the PTC lab.

Responsibilities

Lead Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair and operation of Product Characterization and Test lab equipment.

  • Provide maintenance & Repair to Product Test and Characterization equipment.

  • Coordinate calibration of equipment (internal/external).

  • Establish risk-based program for equipment lifecycle.

  • Work with OEMs/integrators to troubleshoot or develop upgrade plans as required

He also develops solutions for unmet testing needs by:

  • Developing and/or supporting test fixture/tooling design and testing setups.

  • Develop and execute Test Method Validations

  • Execute test protocols.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical field.

  • 10+ years of related field experience, Bachelors of Science or equivalent degree a plus

  • PLC programming, motion control, automation integration, basic knowledge of vision systems, ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings (AutoCAD and Solidworks) preferred

  • Electronic and/or Mechanical theory, principles of electrical circuits, electrical testing procedures.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Familiar with basic measuring and inspection tools & equipment (calipers, micrometers, pin gages, optical systems etc.)

  • Familiarity with product testing such as tensile testing, balloon testing, fatigue testing etc. preferred.

  • Experience in the medical device industry preferred.

  • Good written, verbal communication. Basic math skills, Computer proficiency, Ability to handle multiple tasks, and changing priorities

  • May provide technical guidance and training to others

  • Ability to identify priorities and function independently
