About you and this role:

As the Senior Environmental Specialist, you will be responsible for leading hub or site environmental compliance and management systems in one of multiple fields including, for example, environmental, air, water and waste. You will maintain the license to operate for Midland Operations. This role requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in environmental regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Environmental focused role specifically around Federal and State air regulations

  • Significant knowledge of Waste and Water regulations

  • Clear understanding of Title V

  • Ability to read and understand Air permits and air exemptions

  • Leads implementation of environmental management systems

  • Leads environmental performance improvement of assigned plant(s), site, hub, and business

  • Coordinates, implements, and optimizes environmental programs and compliance programs across site/hub

  • Participates in incident investigations and the corrective action process for environmental issues and opportunities

  • Performs central review of all environmental related documents and submittals to ensure consistency and compliance goals are met

  • Performs Requirements Management Work Process (RWMP) roles as needed

  • Initiates and supports management of change (MOC) for environmental programs and compliance matters, as necessary

  • Acts as Agency Visit protocol owner and implementer

  • Manages permits including submittal of permit applications for new and modified equipment, requests for permit changes, and submittal of permit renewal applications

  • Coaches, trains, and mentors EHS&S technicians

  • Performs site or plant gap assessments around environmental work processes

  • Develops, reviews, monitors, creates and deliver training as appropriate

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

  • Plant engineering experience

  • Chemical manufacturing experience

  • Air regulation experience both State of Michigan and Federal
