Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for sourcing of Process Equipment, Testers & Development Services used to develop and manufacture advanced flash memory storage devices. The scope of this position will cover all aspects of strategic sourcing including sourcing strategy development, supplier relationships, contract management, cost optimization, risk management and market research and intelligence. The manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering, planning, finance and legal and act as procurement ambassador to the business to ensure a complete alignment and deep understanding of the business goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Sourcing Strategy Development

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals and technology requirements.

  • Analyze market trends, industry best practices, and supplier capabilities to identify strategic opportunities and demonstrating a high-level of technical acumen.

B. Supplier Relationships & Contract Management

  • Lead supplier relationship by creating strong connections with our key suppliers to enhance technology collaboration and ensure a reliable supply chain.

  • Oversee the complete sourcing life cycle, from defining technical purchase specifications to leading contract negotiations of terms and conditions to ensuring advantageous agreements, to managing contract expirations.

C. Cost Optimization

  • Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve cost-saving targets.

D. Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation plans to ensure continuity of supply.

  • Stay informed about market dynamics, geopolitical factors, and other variables that may impact the supply chain.

E. Market Research & Intelligence

  • Monitor industry trends, supplier performance, and technological advancements to stay ahead of market changes.

  • Provide regular reports and updates on market conditions and potential impacts on sourcing strategies.

F. Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders

  • Collaborate with various departments such as finance, operations, and quality assurance to understand their sourcing needs.

  • Ensure alignment between sourcing strategies and overall business objectives.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering with 15+ years of industry experience in companies developing and manufacturing semiconductor technologies or capital equipment.

  • The candidate should have a technical background and prior experience in sourcing equipment, materials and services used to develop and manufacture semiconductor technologies.

PREFERRED:

  • Some hands-on experience as a process or equipment engineer.

  • Prior experience in sourcing of capital equipment for Flash memory or DRAM devices.

  • Good understanding of Supplier base that provide technology solutions to Memory industry.

SKILLS

  • Highly analytical individual with a problem-solving mindset, good project management skills ability to thrive in a high-pace dynamic environment.

  • Ability to address unclear work objectives, translating ambiguous tasks into actionable plans by facilitating clarification with stakeholders and technical leaders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate complex information to diverse audiences including executives.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively facilitate discussions, build consensus, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to execute independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.

  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.

  • You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
