The Milwaukeeoffice of SmithGroupis looking for aCivil Engineerto join our team. Working with us, you will: Prepare engineering calculations and reports supporting the design of waterfront infrastructure including coastal structures, utilities, and related works. Prepare construction drawings and specifications, coastal conditions evaluations, and concept design. Documentation may include site grading, erosion control plans, stormwater management, utilities, and other site related features. Collaborate with other civil engineers, site design professionals and permitting specialists as well as architects, building engineers, and planners. Complete construction site visits, and perform construction phase administrative tasks. Communicate with clients, sub-consultants, contractors, and all government levels of regulatory agencies regarding engineering, permitting and site development issues. An ideal candidate has: A bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, and/or certificate in Coastal Engineering. Minimum 1-5 years of design experience working as a Civil Engineer/Coastal Engineer, or recent graduate with internship experience. Engineer in Training Certificate. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D programs; coastal engineering analysis models and tools. Ability to multi-task under rigid deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and excel in the ability to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.
