We are seeking a New Product Estimating and Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role will help manage New Product Development program procurement and quoting activities to ensure timely and efficient product launches.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Review of component drawings, generating requests for quotations, and preparing cost summaries

  • Examine documents (industrial prints, drawings, change orders, and specifications), verify completeness and accuracy of data.

  • Determine the most technically appropriate and cost-effective suppliers for products

  • Attend all Estimating meetings to provide status updates and responses for open purchased item quote requests

  • Providing customers and sales teams with timely responses to questions and requests.

  • Work closely with Sales Operations, Estimating, and Engineering when questions arise for prototype and production costs, etc.

  • Issue purchase orders for Customer prototype requirements

  • Ensure the cost, quality and on-time delivery of all required goods and materials, under compliance with the respective business plans, budgets and targets

  • Initiate and support of proper Make or Buy decisions for new products

  • Manage the Suppliers within the given programs (Request for Quotes RFQ, change management, contract negotiations, payment queries, dispute resolutions, etc.)

  • Support accurate and timely reporting of key measurables

  • Implementation and continuous improvement of standardization activities

  • Support successful program handoff to production procurement team when initial product launch is complete

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

2-5 years’ experience in procurement and/or estimating

Experience in prototype program launches for quoting and purchasing activities preferred

Ability to gather, relate and summarize information into logical conclusions

Strong interpersonal skills required to interact with internal customers and suppliers
