This position will focus on the neuroethics of VNS for epilepsy and depression across three stakeholder groups. This individual will work closely with the current CRC within the Wilson lab to recruit and consent participants to the study, facilitate semi-structured interviews, and assist in regulatory upkeep, analysis, and eventual publication of results. Please note this is a part time position, funded by the grant at a 0.30 FTE (12 hours per week). Job Duties/Responsibilities: * (10%) Recruitment of potential participants * (20%) Speaking with and screening potential participants for study. Includes obtaining consent from participants (virtual consent utilizing REDCap). * (40%) Data collection: Recording and administering virtual interviews. * (10%) Regulatory maintenance: Maintenance of documents, SOPs and communicating and responding to regulatory requests. * (10%) Data analysis and manuscript preparation * (5%) IRB Management * (5%) Other duties Typical duties include attending staff meetings, presentation preparation, budgeting, and generating reports for the PI Qualifications Required Qualifications: * BA/BS plus at least 4 years of experience or advanced degree plus 2 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal eight years. * Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice guidelines * Strong attention to detail, conscientiousness, and organizational skills * Flexibility to conduct research to suit the scheduling needs of participants * Strong verbal and written communication skills in English * Ability and willingness to obtain and document immunizations required for work in clinical environments (e.g., measles, influenza, hepatitis B, negative tuberculosis testing). Preferred Qualifications: * Documented ability in scientific/technical writing, e.g. past contributions to published research papers or other scholarly products * Training or experience in statistical analysis of scientific data * Additional training beyond the minimum requirements, or completion of Clinical Research Coordination certification * Prior education or experience in neuroscience, clinical treatment of mental illness, and/or medical device research * Experience with stakeholder or other forms of public engagement * Specific experience with software in use in our clinics and laboratory (EPIC, REDCap, R) About the Department The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences consists of an outstanding team of researchers, clinicians, and educators who provide world-class expertise in psychiatric illness, treatment, scholarship, and scientific discovery.
