Salary $57,219.39 - $85,829.08 Annually Job Number 25SHRF895LV017 Closing Date 4/7/2025 11:59 PM Central Description The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Custody Records Supervisor for the Central Records unit. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of Central Records to include supervision, scheduling, and training for records clerk staff. The responsibility for this position also includes overseeing inmate booking, releases, warrants, court orders, and other agency record inquiries. The Hennepin County Adult Detention Center Records unit is responsible for processing approximately 40,000 inmate bookings annually. It is also responsible for coordinating records for about 700 daily detainees, processing about 150 releases a day, and entering and clearing 150 warrants each day. Location and hours: This position is located at the Hennepin County Public Safety Facility (PSF) at 401 South 4th Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55415 in downtown Minneapolis. Shifts may start at 6 a.m., 2 p.m., or 10 p.m., and include weekends and holidays. For qualifying hours, hires will receive shift and weekend differential pay. You must be able to work all shifts and days of the week; candidates indicating limited availability will not be considered for this position. In this position, you will: Plan, assign, and direct daily operations of functions associated with inmate identification, booking, records, and warrants. Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Select, train, motivate, and evaluate performance of employees. Communicate and resolve conflicts with employees and the public. Act as a technical resource on complex problems related to inmate identification, booking, and records/warrants. Serve as functional manager of the unit's automated systems; troubleshoot system integration errors and equipment problems. Play a major role in application and system changes and/or upgrades. Establish procedures to assure federal, state, and local legislative mandates, department policies, and deadlines are met. Interpret rules, regulations, and policies in accordance with labor agreements. Explain and interpret Sheriff's Office policies and procedures to the public, staff, attorneys, and law enforcement agencies; work closely with criminal justice partners in developing and implementing new initiatives. Prepare a variety of narrative and statistical reports; develop and document procedures and manage individually assigned tasks. Ensure proper accounting and security procedures for any monies received. Develop and coordinate trainings for employees and engage in their professional development.
