Citigroup Learning Advisor Lead - C13 in Mississauga, Ontario

The Learning Advisor Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within learning and contributes to the strategy by understanding their team, function, and broader business area. They should be a recognized technical specialist with the learning space with basic commercial awareness with a risk and control mindset. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in the team and function. They make a significant impact on the area through complex deliverables and programs. They provide advice and counsel on design and development of training or suggest other options where training is not the best option. Their work impacts the global team, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of Citi and its stakeholders Whilst this role is specifically for Internal Audit learning it will have regular contact with the wider learning team across Citi.

More specific to this role, the successful candidate should be able to work on design, development, and delivery of key programs for the global Internal Audit team with a focus on North America, Canada, and Latin America. The new team member will work on ensuring that each program has proven efficacy measures that cover the embedding of learning as well as the return on investment/experience. The programs this individual will be involved in include (but are not limited to):

  • Fundamentals program: A brand new program for all global audit team members across a range of mediums (e-learn, virtual and face to face) that provide the team with a solid and consistent understanding of the key audit activities.

  • Lead Auditor Academy: A three tier global talent-related program that covers both technical and behavioral skills for junior through to senior managers. Whilst this program is very established, new ideas and updates are needed on an ongoing basis. Much of this program is face to face and virtual, but we are looking for ways to incorporate more e-learning as pre and post resources as well as a strengthened alumni network.

  • Audit Owner and Controller Academy: A global talent-related program for senior managers that serves the next step up from the Lead Auditor Academy with similar format but at a more introductory phase. Work will be carried out into 2025 to fully update and refresh this program.

  • Onboarding program: A program for all new joiners coming into the function, this is a mix of technical and professional skills related training and activities across a range of mediums.

  • Specialist onboarding programs: Summer Analyst program, Analyst program and Military Officer program. Each program again has a mix of modalities and timeframes and each needs to be refreshed and reinvigorated. These programs involve working with the HR and Military Officer program coordinators.

Responsibilities:

  • Works on the entire lifecycle of learning from design through to delivery and evaluation for a range of global programs including learning for all global team members, new joiners, and role-specific programs.

  • Understands relevant Internal Audit, Practices and Learning and Development priorities and opportunities for capability building, performance improvement, cultural development, and overall impact.

  • In partnership with other Learning Advisors, provides management and consulting to the Internal Audit team partners and proactively identifies and prioritizes the L&D opportunities to support successful business outcomes.

  • Helps develop and execute parts of the learning and development strategy for the Internal Audit function.

  • Conducts the analysis of current versus future state gaps, identifies root causes, determines the appropriate solution and how success should be measured.

  • Helps to market, evaluate, and communicate the impact of initiatives with the Internal Audit team.

  • Monitors and communicates progress with other learning colleagues as well as HR partners and navigates any variation in expectations with them.

  • Collaborates with colleagues across HR to provide integrated experience for the Internal Audit team.

  • In partnership with other learning advisors, implements the strategy for consistently measuring the effectiveness of training.

  • Stays abreast to latest external market trends and anticipates their impact on future capability requirements for the Internal Audit team.

  • Is responsible for assisting the tracking and monitoring of the learning budget for their specific focus area.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years’ experience in Learning and Development.

  • Extensive Instructional Design experience.

  • Extensive experience developing training modules with e-learning software. Use of Brainshark, Area 9 and DominKnow will be an advantage, but not a necessity.

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written/verbal communication.

  • Able to edit lengthy text passages and pull out the key points.

  • Proficient in MS Office with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.

  • Solutions focused and innovative problem-solving skills.

  • Proven influencing and relationship management skills.

  • Proactive leadership and motivational skills.

  • Proficient at facilitating virtual and face to face classrooms.

  • Highly adaptable and positive about change and ambiguity.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and act quickly.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred but not essential.
