Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

Branch Team Optimization Canada exists to lead the Canada Business Unit in optimizing the growth of impact of our Markets and Branch Teams as they start, build and finish a successful human centered Edward Jones practice, ultimately leaving a legacy. We will be successful if we provide for opportunities to give Financial Advisors choice on how to grow their practices so that they can serve the unique needs of their ideal clients, accelerate their growth of impact and more fully participate in the Edward Jones opportunity.

The Senior BTMO Consultant must be adaptable, able to navigate ambiguity, willing to champion change and innovation and have a collaborative spirit. They will work with numerous stakeholders and capabilities across the Firm to bring to life new and different approaches for FAs in the Canada Business Segment to conduct their practice including branch structure, real estate, and new Branch Team Support roles, from concept, to test pilot and full implementation. They will consult with Regions and branch teams to help them understand considerations and implications of various practice models to make effective decisions. "

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects focused on launching new efforts/initiatives or improvements. Scope, lead, and direct large-scale Test & Learns/pilots that could lead to abandonment, iterations, or large-scale deployment.

  • Create and manage work plans, communication, and sustainability processes to support initiatives that will be replicable to achieve greater efficiencies, including working with other departments and business leadership to identify the necessary resources to achieve initiative objectives.

  • In alignment with Canada Business Priorities, they must understand the desired branch team and client experience and apply systematic approach to develop innovative solutions to execute on BTMO strategies and priorities, in support of the achievement of the Canada Business Unit's 2030 ambition.

  • Consults with branch teams to gather, elicits, and synthesizes relevant data about the individual FA/branch team, such as their unique situation and needs (e.g., branch vision and goals, prior experience, office/asset situation, branch diagnostics, market insights, etc.) to consult with the FA/branch team on the optimal practice model, e.g. real estate, FA Teaming, CST roles.

  • Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders within the U.S. Business and Canadian Business Units, including Enterprise shared services such as Digital Product Team, Human Capital, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Branch Team Performance, Branch & Region Development, Branch Team Market Optimization, Branch Insights and others to identify, prioritize and implement solutions.

  • Identifies, prioritizes, monitors, communicates, and leads the resolves of issues that are large and complex in nature while considering risks and long-term impact.

  • Assists leaders with hiring decisions and onboarding of new associates.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum requirements: Deep understanding of Canadian regulatory environment (CIRO), Canadian Employment Standards, change management, project management, experience in consulting and coaching.

Preferred: experience providing field-facing support (all levels from Market Leaders to branch associates), understanding of branch team work flows, systems and tools.

  • Strong planning and organizing skills to prioritize work and deliverables, juggle priorities, track project/program progress, performance with also monitoring one's own progress.

  • Ability to design and organize test pilot programs from concept to execution.

  • Understanding of Agile methodology, and how to apply to planning and sequencing work.

  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once.

  • Demonstrated ability to assist in the interpretation of results and adjust strategies based on learnings.

  • Change management experience, and ability to positively motivate branch team member to adopt new ways of working.

  • Ability to handle challenging and/or sensitive conversations in a professional and confidential manner and know when to get others involved.

  • Effective communication skills to set clear and measurable expectations to reach business objectives, including strong writing and presentation skills.

  • Strong ability to assist with identifying efficient workflow processes for the team.

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, key competitors and financial services practice management.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, take action on the appropriate level of information, and adjust course quickly.

  • Demonstrated history of continuous learning to adjust to industry trends, financial services and beyond, as well as evolution of numerous disciplines (e.g. project management, learning, change management, leadership, matrix structure).

  • Knowledge of the Edward Jones training classes, business development tools, the range of solutions offered by the firm, compensation and expense policies for Financial Advisors and Client Support Team professionals, the P&L Statement and all compliance and regulatory requirements. (Preferred)
