PRIVATE INDUSTRY COUNCIL WESTMD(GB) Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Supervisor in Monaca, Pennsylvania

 

Purpose: Promotes the functions of Parent, Family, and Community Engagement area of the Head Start /Eary Head Start program including attendance and supportive services in accordance with the Administration for Children and Families Performance Standards and current Head Start regulations.

Qualficiations: Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or related field. Experience: A minimum of one year experience in social work, preferably in early childhood setting or servicing low-income families and knowledge of Beaver County social service providers. And one year experience working in a supervisory or leadership level position.

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: a. Ability to apply independent judgment b. Excellent oral and written communication skills c. Ability to achieve goals with little supervision d. Ability to maintain confidentiality e. Ability to motivate and supervise others f. Machine operations could include calculator, computer, photocopier, telephone, etc. g. Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, policies, and procedures, Head Start philosophy and program operations h. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to lead teams

Duties may include any or all of the following. This list is intended to be representative. 01. Ensure Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards are being met in the area of Parent, Family, and Community Engagement. 02. Responsible for ongoing monitoring and supervision of Family Service Workers. 03. Evaluate the training needs/wants of families and identify resources. 04. Responsible for monitoring family needs assessments/partnership plans and family outcomes. 05. Assist with training and supporting parents and community representatives in volunteering opportunities. 06. Review and monitor in-kind contributions. 07. Support monitoring of daily attendance and ensure follow-up of irregular attendance is documented. 08. Assure staff follow proper procedures for mandated reporter. 09. Monitor and support the implementation of the Parent, Family and Community Engagement Framework. 10. Assist with identifying changes and updates to the Parent Handbook. 11. Assure the recruitment of parent delegates and alternates for Policy Council. 12. Plan and initiate staff meetings. 13. Perform other duties as defined by Head Start Director and/or the assigned supervisor when additional work is necessary to fulfill the obligations of the organization.
