Kitchen Equipment Technician
SUMMARY
The Kitchen Equipment Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of commercial and residential kitchen and food services appliances, refrigeration systems, kitchen exhaust, plumbing, and associated equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment per manufacturer and industry standards.
Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
Repair malfunctioning equipment using proper tools in a skilled craftsman-like manner.
Participate in installations and disposal of food service equipment, including start-up, testing & commissioning.
Manage manufacturer warranties as applicable.
Log all maintenance activities in computerized maintenance management system using both mobile applications and desktop computers.
Maintain inventory of repair parts, including research and purchase order creation.
Collaborate with manufacturers to develop higher quality materials for proprietary parts with a high rate of failure.
Participate in OSHA/Safety programs.
Participate in Resort’s Emergency Evacuation Team.
Perform assignments as directed by the Director of Engineering.
Assume the duties of other mechanics when required, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and water features repair.
Minor cleaning of equipment as required per manufacturer routine maintenance.
Mentor non-specialized technicians, cleaning crews, and cooks on proper care and operation of equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or Certification from Technical Maintenance Trade School.
EPA Universal License.
Minimum of 1 year experience as a professional appliance repair technician, or completion of apprenticeship to trade school program.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate effective interface with culturally diverse hourly and management Associates, vendors, applicants and the public at large
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Position requires walking and most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts with equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat and stretch, and climb ladders to fulfill tasks. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment.
