CAE USA INC Project Controller (Mandarin) in Montreal (St. Laurent), Canada

About This Role

The Project Controller (PCO) is responsible for executing specific project related activities during the project's execution life cycle. The PCO's main function is to work with the Project Manager (PM) in controlling project progress and performance, project financials and schedule, analysis, reporting, closure, and various customer related, as well as administrative, duties/activities.

The following sections, without being exhaustive, indicate the type of skills, and responsibilities required of the PCO.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the project authorization process alongside the PM and Planner to understand the schedule, financial structure and content of the project/program.

  • Understand, act and comply to the project management/contractual requirements.

Financial

  • Produce, track and maintain invoicing and payment schedules.

  • Perform monthly financial analysis, profiling, and support project review cycles.

  • Identify discrepancies and evaluate impacts.

  • Evaluate cost/schedule/performance key performance Indicators (incl. EVM).

  • Implement changes to project finances – manage data and systems.

Schedule/Planning

  • Process change requests and scenario based analysis.

  • Implement changes to project schedule.

  • Support project governance/ Risk tracking system.

  • Produce Project / Program / Client required documentation.

  • Open and maintain collaborative environments.

  • Liaise with Customers and all internal organizations, subcontractors.

  • Perform administrative duties and associated paperwork.

  • Execute the control processes implemented by the Project Management Office (PMO).

  • Participate/lead process/procedure improvement activities/initiatives.

  • Other duties as may be necessary.

​Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in administration or finance with 2 to 5 years of experience, equivalent combination related to project planning and control OR DEC with 8 years of experience in a project management environment, ideally with long-term projects.

  • CAPM or PMP certification an asset (or to be obtained within a year).

  • MS Project and ERP environment experience an asset.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Minimum experience in a Project Management Office.

  • Relevant experience in an industrial environment. At ease in a HW and SW engineering environment.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Accuracy and precision.

  • Good interpersonal skills, diplomatic.

  • Good communication skills (written and spoken).

  • Ability to manage one's time with multiple projects with tight deadlines.

  • Autonomous, ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimum guidance and supervision.

  • Innovative, creativity, sense of ownership.

  • Mandarin, English and French is required (written and spoken).

  • Other languages an asset.
