The Specialist, Store Communications role actively participates in the planning, development, and execution of communication for operations, promotional activities, customer experience programs, merchandising programs, and business led initiatives. The Specialist role ensures the communication direction to stores is in-sync with operational and business best practices.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

Develop consistent, actionable, store-ready communications for English Canada stores.

  • Write and execute on business unit yearly communications plans. Produce and distribute communications for operations, project communications, and other business units as needed.

  • Participate in the creation of collaborative tools for communication between Retail and Office/Backstage – including establishing and maintaining SharePoint site(s), developing processes/procedures for consolidating communication from various channels.

Partner with key stakeholders to develop and execute communication strategies for committee initiatives, projects, and programs.

  • Support the development of project-related communication plans through participation on project team working committees, providing guidance on Store Communication best practices and development of Store Communication plans to ensure stores understand “the why” and “the how” to successfully execute the initiative at store level.

Support on-going optimization of Store Communications tools, processes, and channels.

  • Recommend, develop plans, and execute improvement opportunities for communication.

What you have to offer:

  • You have an undergraduate degree or higher.

  • You have 5+ years communication experience. (Experience in Retail Operations, Merchandising, Marketing or working knowledge of the retail industry is an asset).

  • You have experience in developing and implementing successful communication plans.

  • You have strong planning skills and the ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines.

  • You believe relationships are important and work to build strong, collaborative partnerships with your team members and other colleagues.

  • This is a bilingual role.The candidate will be expected to work with peers in other provinces in the development, development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada

  • You are able to navigate successfully and positively in a fast-paced, high growth environment where change occurs rapidly.
