rPosting Context Statement:

Reporting to the Student Recreation Superintendent and to the Associate Director of Facilities and Capital Planning for Recreation and Wellbeing, the Team Cleaning Specialist is assigned to clean the building and areas in the Student Recreation Center. This position is responsible for ensuring assigned buildings and areas are clean, sanitary, safe, secure and orderly; performing heavy-duty cleaning of facilities including floor care, operating related equipment and performing minor maintenance on related equipment; and performing other duties as assigned. This position will work a custodial shift from 5:00 am - 1:30 pm, Monday-Friday
rrPosition Overview:
r
The position is responsible for maintaining clean and orderly facilities for students, faculty, staff and visitors. As part of a self-directed team, the position will take initiative to schedule cleaning and maintenance activities.
Duties may include:
- Perform basic cleaning, sanitization and trash collection in and around the Student Recreation Center (SRC) and off-site recreational facilities
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
- Notify occupants of cleaning and floor maintenance schedules
- Maintain clean and clear walkways, ensuring they are free of debris, litter, snow and ice
- Respond to emergencies and assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service
- Ensure that assigned areas are opened and locked as scheduled
- Assist with training new employees
- Other duties as assigned

- Performing cleaning tasks

- Possess a valid drivers license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be on-call a few weekends each winter for possible snow removal duties
rrAdditional Preferred:

- Experience operating industrial high-speed cleaning equipment; performing minor maintenance on custodial equipment; and explaining the use and maintenance of custodial equipment
- Expressed interest in learning and acquiring skills related to custodial services
- Experience operating a Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) with a plow for snow removal
rrPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Must be able to:
- Must be able to perform custodial services in a mens and womens restroom or locker room while patrons are present
- Climb ladders, bend and stoop
- Lift, carry or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk continuously throughout the workday
- Work in inclement weather conditions
