Westchester Jewish Community Services CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER in Mount Vernon, New York

Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Clinical Social Worker to join our team. Under the supervision of the Clinic Director, the Clinical Social Worker provides direct clinical care, including evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, and intake and screening. This full-time (35 hours/week) position offers a competitive salary range from $60,000 to $70,000.

Responsibilities:

As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy.

  • Completing collaborative documentation with clients during the sessions; including progress notes and treatment plans/reviews.

  • Ensuring timely completion of required paperwork such as case records, insurance forms, and statistical reports.

  • Maintaining effective communication with external agencies and collaterals (courts, schools, etc.) including written material, telephone contact and personal visits as necessary.

  • Representing the agency at community meetings, family life education sessions, and in the media when assigned.

  • Supervising staff or students when assigned.

  • Participating on agency committees and in special projects, as needed.

  • Providing emergency and general clinical coverage for the respective office/clinic.

  • Consulting with other members of the disciplinary team, as necessary.

    Requirements:

    We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited school.

  • Possession of or eligible for licensure to practice Social Work in New York State (LMSW, LCSW or LMHC).

  • Knowledge of current principles and techniques of social work.

  • Experience working in an outpatient clinic, ideally in a community mental health setting.

  • Fluency with and commitment to evidence-based treatments.

  • Ability to work with children, adolescents, adults or families.

  • Knowledge of community resources.

  • Ability to conduct interviews to obtain social and medical information necessary for diagnostic evaluation.

  • Ability to analyze and summarize psychosocial information.

  • Strong observational skills for the purpose of analysis and treatment.

  • Ability to collaboratively work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other mental health professionals.
