Come join the Modern Analytics Platform (MAP) as a Manager II of Engineering. MAP is driving the strategy of Intuit’s analytics future by applying AI-driven and AI-assisted expertise to the experience of analyzing and consuming data at intuit. We are looking for a seasoned technology leader with experience running business intelligence applications at a large enterprise. In this role you will lead a team of engineers applying operational excellence to manage a diverse set of business intelligence applications. You will draw upon deep technical expertise, solid analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to maintain successful operations while steering the platform with a futuristic vision and innovation. You will quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player. This leader will also have hands-on responsibility for managing self-hosted business intelligence systems.

What you'll bring

The successful candidate will have expertise in full stack management of AWS infrastructure, experience in Business Intelligence and have proven experience administering enterprise applications. The candidate will need to be comfortable performing system management tasks, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail. The candidate will know and love working with business intelligence tools and can partner with analysts and leaders to answer key business questions.

• Experience managing hosted business intelligence platforms, particularly Tableau or QlikSense.

• 8+ years’ experience as an established technical leader on business intelligence teams

• Hands on engineering leader who can nurture and lead engineers to work on high visibility projects

• Extremely familiar with AWS Well-Architected Framework and hands-on experience with AWS technologies such as CloudFormation, CloudWatch,EC2s, S3, EBS, FsX, Route53, ALBs, etc.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve user-impacting system issues and lead Root Cause Analysis after incidents.

• Proficiency with SQL, Python and data visualization best practices.

• User and admin experience with any of these tools is a plus: Tableau, QlikSense, QuickSight, Looker, PlotlyDash, Alteryx, Amplitude.

• Understanding of trends in business intelligence sector

• Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams

• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment

• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience

In this role you will help to bring out the best in the team by empowering the team and leading by example as a player-coach on the engineering team.

• Apply knowledge of AWS and cloud technologies to actively raise the operational excellence standards of BI Platforms hosted by Intuit at AWS in order to maintain security, availability, scalability, resiliency, and performance.

• Inspire team innovation and operational rigor to deliver high quality onboarding and support experiences for all user interactions.

• Actively contribute to management of platforms by taking end-to-end technical ownership of one deployed BI tool (likely Tableau).

• Manage group of 3 engineers and 3 contractors with end-to-end ownership of all business intelligence platforms.

• Optimize spend on 10 AWS accounts to maintain hosting expenses within monthly budgets.

• Set user governance guidelines and take an active role in maintaining governance standards with users, including taking corrective action with groups breaking governance.

• Take responsibility for team compliance to external reporting requirements for auditing and SOX compliance.

• To accomplish this, you will build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships / alignment with partners across the business (e.g. Data Engineering, Program Management, Data analytics etc).
