Responsibilities

The Azure Stack team is looking for a Software Engineer II with a keen interest in building infrastructure solutions in the virtualization, distributed systems, storage, networking, IoT, AI and ML areas. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Development Engineer to learn about exciting new technologies, work in a team with a startup-DNA, on a product with the potential to mold industry wide thinking in the area of Edge Computing and Storage.

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • evelopment experience in all phases of the product lifecycle

  • Excellent collaboration skills within and across teams

  • Passion or experience building highly scalable, highly available cloud-based software and services

  • Experience with containerized solution development, deployment and DevOps including container orchestration, application management, infrastructure and software provisioning

  • Exposure to or experience with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, MESOS, Helm & Tiller, Terraform & Ansible is highly desired

  • Experience designing distributed, scalable services and implementing highly reliable multi-threaded features

  • Writing tests and ensuring high ship quality

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings

Preferred Qualification:

  • More than 4 years of relevant software design, development, and delivery experience; preferably in C, C++,Java or C#

  • BS or MS in CS, CSE or related field

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
