Job Title: Packaging Engineer

SUMMARY: The Packaging Engineer is responsible for packaging design
development, innovation, renovation and cost saving initiatives specifically working
on primary, secondary materials and design formats. Must work with all cross
functional teams / areas to improve margins, product quality performance and
adherence to packaging specifications. Strong Computer Literacy skills. Excellent
Power Point presentation skills; Proficient in MS project and familiarity with
palletizing software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a key member of the Packaging team, the individual is responsible for
packaging design development, testing and commercialization for Meals
solutions (SAUCE) and Flavor Enhancers (VINEGAR) products.
As a Packaging Engineer reporting to Packaging Manger, you are
responsible for successfully leading design development and
commercialization activities on assigned PKG projects.
Lead and present technical design review with cross functional partners.
Responsible for leading coordinating and successfully executing plant
trials at Mizkan factories.
Responsible for creating, issuing, and owning accurate packaging
specifications.
Responsible for presenting and providing technical updates during
commercial project team meetings.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to commercial
timelines.
Responsible for collaborating with cross functional teams on project related
challenges etc.
Builds and leverage knowledge of packaging materials and processes to
advise team on packaging options and processes as required.
Work as a cross facility team member with other teams, locations and
corporate.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering or Polymer Science
3-5 years of experience required.
Knowledge and understanding of packaging Equipment, materials
(Glass, PET and corrugate), PKG Testing procedures protocols is
required.
Familiar with TOPS or CAPS palletizing software.
Effective communication skills, organizational, problem solving and analytical
skills.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals
and groups at all levels of the organization.
Strong Computer Literacy skills. Excellent Power Point presentation skills;
Proficient in MS project.
Demonstrated strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to travel up to 40%.
Willingness and flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.
