The The Azure, Windows, and Industry Monetization (“AWIM”) organization is looking for a talented individual to join a great team focused on creating business models to drive revenue for Azure Storage. Azure Storage is one of the largest revenue-driving businesses within Azure, and the business models you build will impact almost all customers using Azure, as nearly every workload on Azure requires some form of storage. Business Planning for Azure Storage represents a unique chance to collaborate and learn across a wide array of teams and product groups within Azure.

As a Senior Business Planner on the Core Infrastructure Business Planning team, you will own the business strategy and pricing models within the Disks, Files, and Page Blob product groups. You will not only create pricing/packaging models for new skus and features, but you will also own pricing implementation once these business models have been finalized. This work requires broad collaboration with stakeholder teams including Finance, Engineering, and Operations at all levels.

Responsibilities

Support new and existing Azure Storage services and work on both strategic and tactical activities. Strategic activities include tasks such as business model preparation and market research while tactical activities include offer development and landing new price points in-market globally.

Specific activities include:

Business model & Launch Execution:

  • Own business model strategy (pricing, monetization, and commercialization), SKU line-ups, and service meters for select Storage initiatives.

  • Ensure all internal and external business models and packaging content is up to date while driving field education for new Storage offerings.

  • Work with Azure.com and Pricing calculator teams to ensure that launch schedules are met.

  • Ensure that schedules are communicated to all stakeholders.

Insights & Market Research:

  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to ensure that Storage products are launched with the right strategy and pricing.

  • Develop key metrics, forecasts, and reporting in partnership with finance and engineering to monitor business performance.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to create, implement, and refine business models.

  • Partner with engineering, product marketing, finance, and other teams to drive cross-discipline initiatives for exceptional business results.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years analytical problem-solving skills and ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to drive data-driven decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field

  • OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • A proven track record of working across diverse stakeholders to define and execute strategic initiatives with passion, precision, and excellence.

  • Ability to influence through hands-on engagement with Business Planning leadership teams on pricing/business models and engineering leadership teams on product features.

  • Solid business judgement and ability to make decisions leveraging strategic thinking complemented with a bias for action and execution/operational excellence.

Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
